App for the Subway

One of my biggest fears when I came to Seoul was getting lost on the subway. But when I actually did it, it wasn’t that hard. Within in a week of arriving I had mastered how to use the subway, and that was BEFORE I found this nice app to help me out!

I would recommend this app to every traveler in Seoul.  One of the best features is that it is ALL IN ENGLISH! So you don’t have to worry about trying to figure out how to type in those station names in Korean!

It’s called Metroid HD: Korea Subway Info

This app is great!

It provides are really great high resolution map of the train system! Which you can easily zoom in on!

To start, all you have to do is type in the your departure station, and your destination station. Then the app will generate the shortest path, and the minimum transfer path.

It will also tell you the time of the next departing train, the train direction you should be going in, your arrival time, how many stops, the total distance, and the total fare.

It will also even tell you which door to exit from! (The left side or the right side!)

The app can also tell you the station timetables! Which means you can easily find out what time the last train leaves! I am constantly checking to see what time the last train leaves, especially if I am on the other side of Seoul. After midnight, the taxi’s can get pretty expensive (if you are far away from your destination)

The app can also give you some basic information about the station.
